McCarter Theatre seeks individual to join production management office. The Production Coordinator has primary responsibility for managing hospitality and logistics for 50+ presented events each season. This position also provides day-of coverage for many events, including the stage management of some performances. In addition, the Production Coordinator provides administrative support for the production and programming departments. The ideal candidate will be energetic and inquisitive, great with people, and show outstanding attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency are required. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree, prior professional experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, NJ seeks a Director of Individual Giving to join the staff of the development department. McCarter is one of the most active cultural centers in the nation, offering over 200 performances of theater, dance, music and special events each year. The Director of Individual Giving will report to the Director of Development and will be responsible for raising contributed income at the major gifts level. In concert with the Director of Institutional Giving, the Director of Individual Giving shares responsibility for meeting annual goals for contributed income for the department, as well as for special campaigns including future capital and endowment campaigns.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, 3-5 years of experience as a fundraiser specializing in individual giving and major gifts donations. Previous fundraising campaign experience and excellent stewardship skills are desired. Other requirements include exceptional communications skills, the ability to prioritize responsibilities and a personable and collaborative nature. Strong computer skills and experience in fundraising software and/or Tessitura are preferred.

McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, New Jersey seeks an enthusiastic, professional, and detail-oriented Education Projects Manager.  As a member of the education and engagement wing of McCarter’s Artistic Department, this employee will be responsible for coordination and implementation of production elements across a variety of programmatic arcs, including in-school artist residencies, after school programs, summer camps, and community events. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Liaising with McCarter’s production department to schedule crew support for education projects; communicating with schools, teachers, and teaching artists to schedule in-school programs and residencies;  contracting freelance teaching artists, assistants, designers, and technicians; participating in program design, evaluation, and calendaring each season; planning and implementing production schedule and deadlines;  loading in and striking production elements for education programs; managing organizational system for storage and upkeep of stock materials; reserving classroom and performance spaces;  and creating production calendars to share with students and families.

The successful candidate will be someone who cares deeply about the educational, artistic, and personal growth of young people through the performing arts; can handle multiple deadlines and overlapping projects with efficiency and grace; and is able to bring their strong organizational skill, aesthetic eye, collaborative spirit, and commitment to excellence to the many projects of the department.

McCarter Theatre seeks qualified individual to oversee operation of the Scene Shop and production of scenery for McCarter’s six-play season. Primary responsibilities include hiring and supervision of shop personnel, collaboration with designers and directors, management of scenic design processes including schedules and budgets, directing the load-in/out of scenery, and maintaining the shop facility and its equipment. The TD must adhere to and enforce safe work practices in the conception, construction, and implementation of scenic designs. Applicants should have demonstrated experience with shop drawings, design and implementation of automation and other specialized scenic elements, maintenance of supply stocks, and upkeep of shop equipment. The successful candidate will have strong communication, organizational, and time management skills, as well as an advanced degree in technical theatre and/or equivalent professional experience in this field. Applicant must be able to lift and carry heavy scenery, climb ladders, and work on the grid. Schedule is variable with night and weekend work during the season. Position reports to the Director of Production. Full-time employment with competitive salary, health, pension, vacation and additional benefits.
