MANAGER OF PRESENTED EVENTS MARKETING

McCarter Theatre seeks a Manager of Presented Events Marketing. This position is responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing innovative and effective marketing campaigns for McCarter’s Presented Events—including Music, Dance, and Signature Series—with specific attention to retaining current patrons while expanding McCarter’s audience base and achieving measurable sales goals. The Manager of Presented Events Marketing will develop, manage, and track the success of integrated marketing plans, including advertising (print, digital, broadcast, outdoor, direct response), promotional initiatives, niche outreach, social media and content strategies focused on driving subscriptions, single ticket and group sales.

The successful candidate will be driven to meet financial, operational, and organizational objectives; will demonstrate strong time management skills; and will be adept at managing and prioritizing multiple projects and tasks. Applicants should have a minimum three years’ previous experience in marketing, preferably within the performing arts. Experience with Tessitura is preferred.

SOUND ENGINEER

McCarter Theatre is accepting applications for the position of Sound Engineer. This is one of two sound engineer positions in the 10-person Stage Operations Department, overseeing audio needs and running responsibility for 6-play theatre series and 50-event presenting season as well as ancillary activities. Candidates must have extensive professional experience engineering theatre, musical and concert productions and demonstrate proficiency in industry-standard computer programs, including Q-Lab, ProTools and Wireless Workbench. Strong knowledge of theatrical and concert audio equipment and digital networking is required and education or background in music and/or sound design is a plus. Must be able to read and understand technical specifications, plans and plots. Physical activity includes lifting and carrying heavy equipment, negotiating stairs and working on ladders, lifts and catwalks. Candidate must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to lead crews. Full-time, seasonal position regularly runs August to June.

CARPENTER

McCarter Theatre is accepting applications for the position of Scene Shop Carpenter. Applicants must have strong woodworking and/or metalworking skills. Knowledge in scenic automation and/or rigging also a plus. In addition to shop work, responsibilities also include load-ins, strikes, and other onstage duties when assigned. Candidates must have a minimum of two years professional experience, and be able to lift and carry heavy scenery, climb ladders and work on grid. A valid driver’s license is required and previous box-truck driving experience is desirable. Position reports to the Technical Director. Full-time, seasonal position regularly runs August to May.

PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT CASUAL LABOR – STAGE OPERATIONS

McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, NJ has opportunities for casual employment in stage lighting and stage carpentry. Assignments include load-in, focus and strike of our Theatre Series productions and Presented events and may occasionally include run crew positions. Applicants should have previous professional back stage experience, must be able to lift heavy equipment and scenery and be comfortable working on ladders and elevated platforms. Stage rigging, scene shop carpentry or audio experience also a plus.

PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT CASUAL LABOR – SCENE SHOP

McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, NJ has opportunities for casual employment in scenic carpentry and metal fabrication. These assignments require demonstrated proficiency in theatrical set construction and prior experience in a professional shop setting. Work may also include participation in load-ins and strike of our Theatre Series productions and Presented events. Applicants must be able to lift and carry heavy materials and scenery.
