We hold auditions for Equity roles in our Theatre Season as needed. Equity casting opportunities can be found on the Actors’ Equity website under Casting Call.
We also hold Equity Principal Auditions in the late Spring/Summer. Specific information will be posted here and on the Actors’ Equity website when the dates are set.

MCCARTER THEATRE’S EDUCATIONAL CASTING
McCarter Theatre’s education programs have opportunities for non-equity actors throughout the year. We have an annual touring show for our educational initiative and a Festival of 10-Minute Plays. YOUTH INK! DAY OF PLAY READINGS

Our Youth Ink! “Day-of-Play Readings” provide actors the unique opportunity to work with high school students on the early drafts of their ten minute plays. Readings occur throughout the year. Actors spend the day reading the new material and providing feedback to the young playwrights. There is a small fee for these readings, and we also offer a transportation stipend and lunch. We maintain a list of actors who are interested in participating. To be added to this list, please email casting@mccarter.org with the subject line: “Day of Play Readings.”

A CHRISTMAS CAROL –
NON-EQUITY ADULT ENSEMBLE
Each year we hold an open dance call for the Non-Equity Adult Ensemble in A Christmas Carol. We look for strong dancers who sing well. Audition information will be posted here in September, auditions will be in late October.

YOUNG ENSEMBLE
Each year, McCarter Theatre welcomes young actors (ages 5-13 only) to audition for our annual production of A Christmas Carol. Information regarding sign-ups and auditions will be posted here in early September. At sign-ups, children will be screened, measured and given appointments for the actual auditions.
