Casting Information

A CHRISTMAS CAROL Community Ensemble

If you are a local non-equity or young actor, the best way to get involved at McCarter will be the A Christmas Carol Community Ensemble. For the new reimagined production, we will cast local actors of all ages to be a part of the magic during the holiday season. This ensemble aims to engage and involve the diverse and talented community that surrounds McCarter, creating opportunities for performers of all ages, genders, races, and levels of ability. This diverse and enthusiastic group fills the streets of London, dances with the Fezziwigs, carols at Scrooge’s doorstep, and brings Christmas cheer to every corner of McCarter.

More Information about A Christmas Carol 2016 Casting

If you would like to receive announcements about the reimagined production of A Christmas Carol and other casting opportunities here at McCarter, please follow this link and click on the Casting box to sign up for our casting email list. Information regarding casting opportunities at McCarter will also be posted on this page throughout the year, so please check back.

Please note that our theater series is cast by freelance casting directors. Breakdowns for specific productions are posted on Breakdown Express. Calls for headshot and resume self-submissions are posted through Actors’ Equity Association’s NYC audition department on a show by show basis. We also hold open Equity Principal Auditions as per AEA guidelines in the spring. This year’s EPAs have passed. Information for next year’s general auditions will be publicized on this page and on AEA’s website (click “casting call”). We are also often able to see non-equity actors at these seasonal auditions.

McCarter Theatre employs a search rather than submission method when scouting new work. We believe a focused and directed approach benefits both McCarter and the artists we serve.
