The Barber of Seville
The Marriage of Figaro

By Pierre Beaumarchais
Adapted and Directed by
Stephen Wadsworth
April 1 – May 4, 2014

Special 10:30 am student matinees
Thursday, April 24 (Barber)
Thursday, May 1 (Marriage)

Two of the greatest comedies and delightfully scathing social satires ever written, The Barber of Seville and The Marriage of Figaro provide humorous insight into the society, structures, and ideas of pre-Revolution France. They feature Figaro, the famous barber, who has his hands full with schemes, plots, and a complicated class system. Lush and lively, these plays are chock-full of hilarious misunderstandings, passion, disguises, and sumptuous period costumes.

For more information on tickets, about the cast and creative team, to explore the play and its themes and context, to learn more about events surrounding the production and to access educators’ pre-and post-show curricular content, visit the The Figaro Plays website!
