Veronica (Miss Witherspoon) -
Veronica is a recently-deceased middle-aged woman whose soul is lingering between lives. She is desperately trying to avoid being reincarnated, even though it affords her her only true opportunity to rest in peace.

“I really don’t want to come back. I just find too much of it all too upsetting.”

Maryamma -
Maryamma is Veronica’s spiritual guide during the afterlife. She is anxiously trying to help Veronica to embrace life and gain insight from her many lives she’s lived.

“You’re like some negative English woman in an Agatha Christie book who finds everybody bothersome. It’s because of your negative brown tweed aura. You have a lot of aura cleansing to do in future lives, you know?”

School Teacher -
During one of her most miserable reincarnations, Miss Witherspoon is befriended by the School Teacher, a woman who is incensed by the way Miss Witherspoon is treated by her wicked mother. When asked for guidance, she becomes a life-long mentor to Miss Witherspoon.

“Mrs. Fortunata, I’m…upset how you speak to your daughter.”

Mother and Father #1 -
During one of Miss Witherspoon’s reincarnations, her Mother and Father are pleasant, young professionals in their thirties. She is their first daughter and they are overjoyed to have her. They have a dog.

Mother #1: “Oh, David, she’s very chatty this morning. She almost said Mama.”

Father #2: “That’s right, darling, very good. What a beautiful baby.”

Mother and Father #2
During one of Miss Witherspoon’s reincarnations, her Mother and Father are ignorant, obnoxious, loud-mouthed, verbally-abusive people.

Mother #2: “God, it’s such a noisy baby. Do you think it’s defective?”

Father #2: “Well it came out of your fat ass, it’s bound to be defective.”
