You can shop “the Store” in both the Berlind and the Matthews Theatres one hour prior to each performance, during intermission and after most shows. When there are two or more shows on a given day, the store is open through the end of the last show.

Is the McCarter website secure?
Yes. Our secure server software encrypts all of your personal information including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read as the information travels over the Internet. The encryption process takes the characters you enter and converts them into bits of code that are securely transmitted over the Internet.
When your order reaches our office, it can be decrypted only by designated individuals in our Ticket Office.

Which Credit Cards can I use to purchase tickets?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover cards.
Can I buy tickets with cash?
Yes, you may pay with cash at the Ticket Office Window during regular business hours.
Is there a handling charge?
The handling charge for tickets purchased on the web is$4.25 per ticket . The handling charge for phone orders through the Ticket Office is $8.50 per order. Tickets purchased in person at the Ticket Office Window are not subject to a handling charge. Additional charges or fees may apply for ticket exchange transactions.
How will I get my tickets?
Your tickets will be mailed to you if you purchased them 5 or more days prior to your scheduled performance. If you selected “Hold at Box Office” or you purchased the tickets less than 5 days before the performance, your tickets will be available for pick up on the day of the performance.
What if I lose my tickets?
We will reprint any lost tickets at no charge.
What if I can’t make a performance?
All sales are final, but tickets can be exchanged priorto the performance date for another event, subject to availability, with a $10.00 per ticket handling fee and any applicable upgrade charges.
You can also donate tickets back to the theater up to half an hour before the show for a tax deduction. Certain events, such as McCarter’s annual Gala performance, are excluded from exchange privileges.
Subscribers are entitled to unlimited ticket exchanges as a subscriber benefit.
What kind of discounted tickets are available?
McCarter Theatre offers discounted tickets, subject to availability, for most performances to eligible patrons. Current discounts include, but are not limited to:
can receive 10% -15% off selected performances. Cannot be applied with other discount offers. All discounted AAA rate tickets will be held at the ticket office for pick-up with valid I.D.
WHYY, WXPN, Channel 13,
Arts, Theatre Communications Group, and Drama League members
receive 15% off single tickets for Theater Series weekday performances and 10% off single tickets for Theater Series weekend performances.
Corporate Discounted Tickets
are available to employees of select businesses located around the tri-state area. Please check with your Human Resources department to see if your business qualifies for discounted tickets. The corporate discount is 15% off the single ticket price for all Theatre Series performances.

are available for select Theater Series performances. On Pay-What-You-Can performances, you may pay any dollar amount per seat subject to availability. This offer is only valid in person at the ticket office window the date of the assigned Pay What You Can performance. No phone or mail orders will be accepted. Do you offer discounts for seniors?
Currently McCarter Theatre does not offer exclusive discounted tickets to seniors, although all patrons are welcome to take advantage of discounted ticket via one of the above mentioned discounted ticket offers.
Do you offer discounts for students?
Yes. McCarter Theatre does offer discounted student rate tickets to patrons who meet the following criteria:
- Elementary, junior, and senior high school students as well as Full-time college, university, and graduate students. Students must present a valid student I.D., current registration card or report card at the time of purchase, or be present when picking up tickets.
Current discounts include, but are not limited to:
- $15 student, seated tickets are available for all Theater Series performances.
- $10 student standing room tickets are available for all performances at any time.
- $15 Student tickets are made available for selected performances two weeks ahead of the performance date, subject to availability. Proof of age or valid Student ID is required to purchase student price tickets. Please check with the Ticket Office for ticket availability prior to the performance date.
Student Tickets can be purchased for selected performances on McCarter's Web Site by entering the promo code STUTIX.
Student prices will appear for valid performances within the two week period prior to the show. If no student price appears, student tickets are not available for the selected performance. ALL STUDENT TICKETS PURCHASED ON THE WEB ARE HELD AT THE TICKET OFFICE AND CAN BE PICKED UP WITH VALID PROOF OF ID.

How can I view the Seating charts?
Click “Seat Maps” under Visitor Info at the top of the screen. You can also view the seating chart when purchasing tickets to a performance.
How do I become a subscriber to McCarter Theatre?
You may call our subscriber hotline at 609.258.5050 and speak with a subscription office representative, who can help you select seats and purchase tickets for any of our current series. You can also purchase subscriptions online.
When will I receive my subscription tickets?
Subscription Series tickets are mailed out at the end of the summer. As the season progresses, you will receive them in the mail with your subscriber discount card and Audience Guide shortly after you purchase your subscription tickets. Young At Art Subscription tickets or Student tickets that are purchase over the phone will not be mailed to you. You must pick them up on or before your first performance date and show the proper identification. Student or Young At Art Tickets purchased with regular-priced subscription tickets will be mailed together.
Do I get discounts on additional performances if I am a subscriber?
Yes. “Subscriber only” discounts are available.
McCarter Theater Series subscribers can save $5 off additional Theater Series tickets for friends and family. This offer can even be used if you wish to see the show again!
