1876	Moves from Dublin to London.
1879	Completes Immaturity, his first novel (unpublished until 1930)
1884	Joins Fabian Society
1891	Publishes The Quintessence of Ibsenism. Marries Charlotte Payne-Townsend.
1892	Writes first play, Widower's Houses. It is produced by the Independent Theatre Society, London.
1893	Writes Mrs. Warren's Profession
1894	Writes Arms and the Man and Candida. Arms and the Man produced in London and New York.
1902	Stage Society, a private club, performs Mrs. Warren’s Profession.
1904	Candida produced in London at the Court Theatre. The Court will produce ten more Shaw plays in the next three years.
1905	Mrs. Warren’s Profession performed in New York and New Haven. Writes Major Barbara.
1913	Writes Pygmalion.
1914	Outbreak of World War I.
1916	Writes Heartbreak House.
1918	End of World War I.
1923	Writes Saint Joan (Nobel Prize winner).
1926	Receives the 1925 Nobel Prize for Literature.
1928	Publishes The Intelligent Woman’s Guide to Socialism and Capitalism.
