View NJN Rosanne Cash Interview
Talk about serendipity! The master fiddler/composer Mark O’Connor has turned his two CDs Appalachia Waltz (with Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer) and the Grammy-winning Appalachia Journey into runaway bestsellers. But he also collaborated and recorded with his boyhood hero, the great Johnny Cash, and after his death, created a work for his trio to honor Cash’s life, music and memory, which he will play with Arash Amini (cello) and Melissa Marse (piano). Rosanne Cash also recorded with her father, and has won her own share of Grammys as a singer/songwriter, with 11 CDs and an equal number of hit singles to her credit, including her latest album, Black Cadillac (2007 Grammy nominee), which she describes as a “personal history, family tree, and an archeological dig into my own life.” She will be joined by her husband, the songwriter/arranger John Leventhal, and bassist Jeff Allen, in songs from Black Cadillac and her other albums.
