TERENCE BLANCHARD QUINTET
with special guests from Princeton University
For more than a quarter century, trumpeter/ composer/bandleader Terence Blanchard has celebrated his native New Orleans in music. In his return to McCarter, his quintet will not only play from his latest CD Choices (featuring spoken word segments by Princeton’s own Cornel West) but will also be joined by 30 student musicians from the University‘s Orchestra and Concert Jazz Ensemble in the suite from his Grammy Award-winning A Tale of God’s Will (A Requiem for Katrina), written for Spike Lee’s epic documentary When the Levees Broke.
(Presented with support from the Princeton University Music Department and The Lewis Center for the Arts.)
