Currently celebrating its 25th anniversary season, Ronald K. Brown’s Evidence is the most important African-American based dance company to emerge since Alvin Ailey. As a choreographer, Brown’s work combines Cuban, Caribbean, West African, and modern American dance forms to create a powerful view of human struggles, tragedies, and triumphs. The New York Times put it this way: “If there is any company working today whose dancers pack a more sophisticated and vibrant kinetic punch than those of Evidence, I can’t think of it.” Brown and his dancers will bring a program including his latest work, On Earth Together, set to songs of Stevie Wonder, as well as Grace, originally created for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.
