Hilary Hahn’s first recording at age 17 (the unaccompanied works of Bach) identified her not only as an instrumental virtuoso, but as an artist of uncommon depth and intelligence. Her latest recording of the Four Violin Sonatas by Charles Ives is already a front runner for a 2013 Grammy, and her McCarter program will include Sonatas by Bach, Corelli, and Faure, as well as selected shorts drawn from “27 Pieces: The Hilary Hahn Encores,” commissioned by the artist from a broad range of contemporary European and American composers.
Faure: Sonata No. 1 in A, Op. 13
Corelli: Sonata No. 4 in F, Op. 5
Bach: Chaconne from Partita No. 2 in D
