Wendy Whelan Dance Project
Restless Creature

For 25 years, the great dancer Wendy Whelan captivated New York City Ballet audiences with her elegant yet thrilling movement. If the NYCB had the equivalent of a “prima ballerina,” she was it. In Restless Creature, she joins forces with four of today’s top male choreographers in a vibrant suite of duets, created by and danced with: Kyle Abraham (who brings his own company to the Berlind Theatre in October); Joshua Beamish and Brian Brooks, both of whom also have their own companies; and Alejandro Cerrudo, the Resident Choreographer of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. It’s not often that McCarter gets to host the New Jersey premiere of a major dance event, so we’re thrilled—and so will you be watching what this dance legend and her colleagues have created.

Kyle Abraham: The Serpent and the Smoke
Josh Beamish: Waltz Epoca
Brian Brooks: First Fall
Alejandro Cerrudo: Ego Et Tu
