Online Summer Classes

All adults over 18 are welcome to join our virtual classes!

Plays and Performances in Context

This class is designed for theatergoers who are insight seekers eager to take deep dives into dramatic texts and learn about a work’s social, cultural, and historical context, as well as its creative origins and artistic intention—all the while engaging in lively discussion. We will pair published works with recorded or streamed performances that can be accessed virtually. A summer version of the Princeton Adult School’s popular Theater in 3D, this course will be taught by Paula Alekson, McCarter’s Artistic Engagement Manager.

Tuesdays and Thursdays — August 11, 13, 18, 20, 25, 27, and September 1 from 10:00 – 11:30am

$255 (does not include the cost of play scripts or performances)

The class will culminate in a Zoom Festival of Five-Minute Solo Plays for family and friends. This course will be taught by Paula Alekson, McCarter’s Artistic Engagement Manager and former Director of the Youth Ink! High School Playwriting Residency Program.
