Shakespeare Community Reading Group
Like Shakespeare? Love theater and reading plays aloud?
McCarter hosts a casual monthly Shakespeare Community Reading Group for people of all ages and levels of experience. This is a free, informal, and fun way to personally experience Shakespeare’s words and characters. We read a different play each month, so participants are encouraged to come whenever they can, and not worry if they can’t attend consistently. Some of the plays we’ve read aloud together include The Tempest, Hamlet, Richard III, and Romeo and Juliet. We’ve even ventured into modern adaptations, such as Good Night Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet).
All are welcome and everyone gets a turn to read.
