Position Summary
The Development Associate is a key member of McCarter’s Development Department, providing administrative support for both individual and institutional giving. This position is an integral role to the administrative success of McCarter’s Development team, as a leading arts non-profit, and will interact and collaborate with several other departments regularly.
Principal Job Responsibilities
- Manage the department calendar for the Annual Fund and other campaigns.
- Oversee daily gift entry for contributions received
- Generate acknowledgement letters for gifts ranging from $25.00 - $2,999.00.
- Generate fundraising reports and lists/extractions as needed.
- Create and coordinate routine mailings and solicitations.
- Coordinate with Director of Patron Experience to develop outbound calling lists.
- Assist with preparations for all donor events including the Annual Gala, Opening Nights, Member Lounge Nights, and other special activities.
- Be present for many donor events to assist with check-in and to perform other functions.
- Assist with individual, foundation and corporation research as needed.
- Take and distribute meeting minutes for occasional Development meetings.
- Attend all Development training sessions required by the Director of Development, as well as institutionally required professional development opportunities.
- Maintain consistent awareness of institutional events, meetings, and other information via company email and other modes of communication.
- Adhere to safe working practices and follow all McCarter safety and code of conduct policies
- Initiate a positive experience while communicating with a diverse donor base, leading with McCarter’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility (EDIA), and Antiracism informed values and practices for both staff and community members.
- Participate in the work to make McCarter an antiracist theater. Actively seek ways to improve our work practices to make the Development Department and McCarter as a whole more Equitable and Inclusive
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or relevant administrative experience in non-profit fundraising.
- Computer Proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom video conferencing, etc.)
- CRM/fundraising database knowledge preferred; Tessitura experience strongly preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and writing.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and identify priorities with ease.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Passion for the performing arts.
- Good sense of humor and a team player.
- Flexibility to work several nights and weekends as assigned.
- Ability to work in an on-site/off-site hybrid environment
- Strong EDIA and antiracism critical consciousness or curiosity and willingness to grow in these areas

- With calm and precision, execute appropriate emergency procedures in the event of an emergency.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for ensuring that all hardware, software, AV, printing, telephony, videoconferencing, and digital programming streaming needs are met for McCarter Theater Center following McCarter Theatre policies, procedures, and deadlines. This includes maintaining the functionality of all computing equipment and software, enforcing all information security policies and compliance requirements of McCarter Theatre Center and the Princeton University Office of Information Technology. Leadership
The Managing Director, reporting to the Board of Directors, provides strategic leadership for all day-today financial and operational aspects of the theatre and serves as a complimentary partner to the Artistic Director. The Managing Director directly supervises the Director of Development, the Chief Financial Officer, the Director of Operations, the Director of Information Technology, the Director of Marketing, the Director of Patron Experience, the General Manager, the Chief of Staff, and co-supervises the Director of Equity and Organizational Culture, the Director of University and Artistic Partnerships, and the Director of Production. The position calls for innovative leadership, an understanding of the mission of the organization, and effective partnership with leaders throughout McCarter including the Board of Directors, the Princeton campus, and throughout the region. They will have demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategy; building the financial, operational, and ideological support for its implementation; and skillfully balancing the needs of multiple interests. Position Summary
The Assistant House Manager at McCarter Theatre Center joins the Patron Experience Department as members of the Front of House team and will carry out the theater’s mission by supporting the House Manager. Primary Job Responsibilities:
· Coordinate parking for patrons before performances with regard to disabled patrons, performance sponsors, and other parking requirements as directed by House Management.

· Maintain or coordinate a presence in the lobby at all times to handle guest issues immediately.

Position Summary
The Patron Services Representative will implement McCarter’s marketing strategy and support the theater’s mission, values, and goals. This position is responsible for the fulfillment of high-quality customer service, including exemplary attention to detail and courteous and timely response to patron needs.
Responsibilities

Sell and process all ticket sales in Tessitura, including single tickets, subscriptions, group tickets, exchanges and voucher redemption.

Process sales accurately and efficiently in Tessitura following all department policies and procedures.

Engage in active selling of events, including upselling and cross selling.

Maintain knowledge of all offers, promotions, and upcoming events.
-
Solicit donations to the Annual Fund by requesting a monetary donation during ticket sales.

Update customer records accurately in the Tessitura software application including correct spelling of name, mailing address, phone number, email address, and so forth.

Assist patrons with inquiries related to their McCarter experience, such as directions, parking, restaurants, and hotels.

Actively work to resolve customer complaints and problems before escalating to the manager on duty.

Utilize Customer Service Issues in Tessitura software to insure accurate documentation of all communication between the Patron Services Department and patrons.

Keep up-to-date on all theater-wide and departmental emails and notices.

Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor on duty including filing and research.

Attend all Patron Services training sessions required by the Director of Patron Experience.

Maintain a high level of communication with the Patron Experience department.

Initiate a positive experience while communicating with a diverse patron base, including the adherence of McCarter’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Antiracism expectations.

Adhere to safe working practices and follow all McCarter safety and code of conduct policies

Participate in the work to make McCarter an anti-racist theater. Actively seek ways to improve our work practices to make McCarter more Equitable and Inclusive.
Qualifications

Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the performance season, as scheduled in advance

Ticketing experience preferred, as well as experience with multi-line phone systems

Cash handling and credit card transaction processing experience required

Superior customer service skills

High level of computer aptitude and proficiency in Office programs

Excellent written/verbal communication skills

Ability to remain flexible and professional at all times; effectively communicate and work with all levels of constituents, while operating in a fast-paced, proactive environment

POSITION: Usher
CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time; Non-Exempt; Hourly
DEPARTMENT: Patron Experience
REPORTS TO: Front of House Supervisor
SALARY: $15 per hour
Ushers at McCarter Theatre join the Patron Experience Department as members of the Front of House team. In this role, ushers are the first line of engagement with audience members who attend our performances.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
· Welcome audience members to the venue and assist them with finding the precise location of their seats according to their ticket information.
· Use a scanning device to ensure the ticket presented is an authentic credential for the specific performance scheduled.
· Resolve any conflicts as needed when audience members are in disagreement about the location of their seats or when another patron is in the wrong ticketed section.
· Aid patrons who have disabilities or other special needs in finding an appropriate seat or section for them to enjoy the show comfortably.
· Answer audience member questions when asked about the content of the production.
· Enforce all venue performance rules throughout the production, such as no flash photography, recordings, limited entry and exit and no access to restricted areas.
· Facilitate a positive experience for a diverse audience, including the enforcement of McCarter’s Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Antiracism expectations for all audience members.
· Follow all emergency procedures regarding venue evacuation and know the location of all exits throughout the building.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Superior customer service skills
· Excellent verbal communication skills - multilingual a plus
· Able to stand for long periods of time
· Maintain a professional appearance
· Friendly demeanor
· Ability to work nights, weekends, weekday matinees and holidays
· Comfortable working in a collaborative environment and with patrons, staff, students and artists of a diverse background
· CPR training a plus
