Foundation & Government Support
McCarter Theatre Center receives funding from a wide variety of foundations who believe in the importance of the performing arts and theater education in American society.
The specific work supported by foundations varies but collectively their contributions represent a critical 10% of McCarter’s annual income.
The New Jersey State Council on the Arts is the lead governmental supporter of McCarter’s operations. The New Jersey Cultural Trust has also been a vital partner in McCarter’s endowment and sustainability plans.
