McCarter Live at the Library

Tuesday, April 24, 2018

Venue Princeton Public Library
Time 7:00 - 8:30 PM
Admission No RSVP or ticket is required to attend the discussion; it is free and open to the public.

Please join Tony and Obie Award-winning playwright Christopher Durang and McCarter Theatre Center Artistic Director and Resident Playwright Emily Mann for a moderated discussion about their close friendship and professional collaborations on Miss Witherspoon; Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike; and, now, Turning Off the Morning News. Durang will speak about what inspired this new play and the nature of his writing process, and Mann will talk about the experience of bringing Durang’s McCarter commission and world premiere to the stage. As they will be in the midst of rehearsals, Mann and Durang will also share details of their work “in the room” with the play’s cast and offer the inside scoop on the production’s design elements. As a coda to the event, Emily Mann will provide a prospectus of McCarter’s newly announced 2018-2019 Theatre Series.

The event will take place in the Princeton Public Library’s Community Room (on the first floor adjacent to the Library Café). The Princeton Public Library is located at 64 Witherspoon Street, Princeton, NJ.

This is a Princeton Public Library and McCarter Theatre Center community partnership event.
