Overview

Founded in 1960, the Orquestra Sinfonica Nacional de Cuba’s mission has been to introduce Cuban and Latin American music to the rest of the world, and its tours have taken it everywhere—including to the USA for the first time in 2012. Its legion of guest conductors includes Sir Thomas Beecham, Stokowski, Steinberg, Munch, Stravinsky, Ormandy, and even Bruno Walter. The piano soloist at McCarter is Yekwon Sunwoo, the gold medalist of the 2017 Van Cliburn Competition.
