In anticipation of the opening of McCarter Theatre Center’s production of Dominique Morisseau’s Detroit ’67, and in collaboration with Princeton Public Library, members of the Einstein Alley Musicians Collaborative (EAMC)—featuring house band The Beagles—will perform selections from the Motown songbook. EAMC will share the story of the development of the famed record company’s sound, musical style, and subjects before, during, and after the Detroit race riots of 1967. The set list includes popular tunes originally recorded by Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, The Four Tops, The Temptations, The Jackson 5, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and more. Come out to sing along to your favorite sounds of the 60s and 70s. There’ll be “Dancing in the Street” at Witherspoon and Hinds Plaza.* Please join us!

Hinds Plaza is located at 55 Witherspoon Street, Princeton, NJ.

This is an Einstein Alley Musicians Collaborative, Princeton Public Library, and McCarter Theatre Center joint community partnership event.
