“The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.”

—Touchstone, As You Like It, Act V, Scene I

Love theater and reading plays aloud? McCarter hosts a casual monthly Shakespeare Community Reading Group for people of all ages and levels of experience. This is a free, informal, and fun way to personally experience Shakespeare’s words and characters. All are welcome and everyone will get a turn to read!

Come reflect with us on the tragedy and hilarity of the human condition as we resurrect a timeless piece aloud together! We invite you all (foolish and otherwise) to share in reading the last half of As You Like It, which the group began reading at our last meetup; we will start at Act 3, scene 4. Won’t you join us?

Please bring your own copy of the play; any edition will do. And bring a friend too!

All are invited, but reservations are required. Click below to reserve your seat!
