McCarter’s Gala is a favorite annual tradition where our community can share the joy of and celebrate the performing arts. After two virtual Galas, we are delighted to host an in-person party this year, featuring Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Gregory Porter. The Gala is a major fundraiser for McCarter, helping to sustain our artistic and educational programming throughout the year. Known for his warm baritone vocals, Gregory Porter rose to acclaim in the 2010s with his earthy, cross-pollinated brand of jazz, soul, and gospel. A gifted singer of standards as well as more contemporary soul material, Porter has earned favorable comparisons to his idols Nat King Cole, Donny Hathaway, and Stevie Wonder.
