About Brian Skerry
Brian Skerry is a photojournalist specializing in marine wildlife and underwater environments. Since 1998 he has been an assignment photographer for National Geographic Magazine covering a range of subjects and stories. In 2017 he was named the Rolex National Geographic Explorer of the Year. He has also worked on assignment for or had images featured in magazines such as Sports Illustrated, New York Times, BBC Wildlife, GEO, Washington Post, Smithsonian, Esquire, Audubon, and Men's Journal.
Brian lectures frequently on exploration, visual storytelling, and conservation. Among the places he has spoken are the United Nations General Assembly, TED Talks, The World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, The Royal Geographical Society in London and the Sydney Opera House in Australia. He has been a guest on numerous television shows including CBS This Morning and The TODAY Show.
