Ticket Policy
All ticket purchases are a final sale. No refunds are offered unless a performance is canceled or postponed. Tickets may be exchanged for a new event, under the following criteria:
In addition to any difference in ticket price, non-subscribers may exchange their ticket(s) for an Exchange Fee of $25 per order. Subscribers may exchange ticket(s) with no Exchange Fee. All exchanges must be made by contacting Patron Services.
Exchanges must be made at least 24 hours prior to the performance you are unable to attend, and cannot be accommodated at showtime. We are unable to exchange your tickets if the date of your performance has already passed.
McCarter will not make changes to ticket orders for anyone who cannot be verified as the original ticket buyer. McCarter reserves the right to cancel any ticket order at our discretion.

By default, all tickets will appear in your Digital Wallet. For more information on your Digital Wallet, click here. Digital Tickets cannot be printed. If you do not have a mobile device that can access the internet, please contact Patron Services, and we can hold tickets for you at the Box Office.

An email will be sent confirming your updated ticket order, and new tickets will appear in your digital wallet.

Yes! The box office welcomes walk-up sales during all operating hours, including before a performance. Please refer to our regular operating hours at the bottom of this webpage. Please note, there is no difference in price for walk-up sales.

Yes, we are happy to support other non-profit organizations in our local community by donating a voucher for two tickets to one of our Theatre Series productions. Please note: Your organization must be a 501(c)3 Charitable Organization within the greater Princeton area in order to be considered and at this time we are unable to support requests for tricky tray or basket raffles. Please email your request to patronservices@mccarter.org and include the name of the organization and description of the service they provide, date of event, information about the type of fundraising event, contact name and email, mailing address to which we can send our donation, and your EIN #. Please allow 1-2 weeks for processing of your request.

Each patron, including children of any age, must have an individual ticket to enter the auditorium. Infants in arms or in strollers/carriers will not be admitted.

Service Animals are welcome in all public areas of McCarter Theatre Center. While inside the building, Service Animals must be tethered, harnessed, or leashed unless the devices prevent the animal’s safe, effective performance of their tasks. Please contact Patron Services if you require seating accommodations for Service Animals who will be accompanying you. Comfort and/or Emotional Support Animals are not permitted in the lobby or theatre spaces.

In the event of a weather-related cancellation, patrons will be notified by email and a notice will be posted on the McCarter website. If you are unable to attend a performance please reach out to Patron Services at 609-258-2787 to exchange your tickets for another performance. Exchange fees may apply.
