From Highway 1, take the Alexander Road exit towards Princeton. Or, take New Jersey Transit to the Princeton stop, a short walk to McCarter’s door.

 

Parking

Theater Drive Garage 

Free and convenient parking is available at Princeton University’s Theater Drive Garage after 4PM on weekdays and all day (until 2am) on weekends. At all other times, this is a Princeton University permit ONLY lot.

To access the garage, take Alexander Street to Theater Drive; the garage entrance will be on your right after you pass the train station.

From the Theater Drive Garage, walk five minutes on the highlighted walking path (with no stairs) past the Lewis Center for the Arts, Roots Ocean Prime, and the Dinky Bar & Kitchen to McCarter.

After 4 PM on weekdays and all day on the weekends, University visitors may park in any numbered and non-restricted parking lots. Motorists must be parked in a legal space between two white lines and adhere to signage and state regulations.

Metered Parking

Metered street parking is available on Alexander Street, College Road, and University Place, and parking is available in the Princeton Station lot along Alexander Street. For additional weekday daytime parking options, please see Princeton University Visitor Parking Information.

Take The Train

The Northeast Corridor line of New Jersey Transit conveniently stops at the Princeton Junction train station. Patrons can transfer to the Dinky train—a four minute ride to the Princeton Station, just steps from McCarter’s door.

Schedules and Information

Richardson Auditorium

If you are attending a McCarter performance at Richardson Auditorium, you are welcome to park at the Theater Drive Garage and take advantage of free parking after 4pm.
