  • Each camp generally serves between 10-17 children, with two primary teaching artists overseeing the camps.

  • Camp sessions will be held at the McCarter Theatre Center on Princeton University’s campus. Additional spaces in Princeton may also be used. Full location details will be shared upon registration.

  • Need-based scholarships and financial assistance are available to qualifying families. Click here and complete the application. Please email your materials to classes@mccarter.org. A McCarter representative will reach out to you with the following steps once we've received your materials.

  • Yes. All camps will culminate in a final informal sharing for invited guests.

  • If you purchase the Flexible Registration option, you may cancel up to two weeks before the start of the camp for a full refund. If you purchase the Standard Registration option, your payment is non-refundable. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within two weeks of the camp start date, regardless of whether Cancellation Protection was purchased.

  • Payment is due at the time of registration. We are unable to offer payment plans at this time, but information about scholarships and financial assistance is listed below.

  • The lunch break will take place from 12-1 p.m. each day. Campers should bring a bagged lunch and a snack that does not require refrigeration or heating.

  • Camps will take place indoors in large rehearsal rooms. A layering sweatshirt is encouraged as the room temperature varies throughout the day. Sunscreen and bug spray should be applied before arriving at camp, as lunch/snack will generally take place outdoors when the weather permits. If your child needs to bring medication, please contact classes@mccarter.org to discuss the details.

  • Drop-off and pick-up for camp takes place at 8:50-9:00 am and 3:00-3:10 pm.

  • No, we are not offerings these services this summer.

  • A Lead Teaching Artist and an Assistant Teaching Artist will teach each camp. All Teaching Artists have experience working with young students and are exceptional artists and educators. Additionally, all summer camp staff has successfully completed a criminal background check.

  • Occasionally, classes may need to be canceled due to inclement weather or other extenuating circumstances beyond our control (including, but not limited to, unsafe travel conditions, power outages, building closures, or public safety advisories).

If a class is canceled for these reasons:

    • Notification: We will make reasonable efforts to notify enrolled participants as soon as possible using the primary email contact information on file.

    • Make-up Sessions: When a cancellation occurs, we will make our best effort to schedule a make-up class. Make-ups may be held on an alternate date/time and may be offered in-person or virtually, depending on availability and feasibility.

    • When a Make-up Isn’t Possible: If space, staffing, or participant schedules do not allow for a make-up session, the canceled class will be skipped and the course will continue as scheduled with the next session.

    • Refunds/Credits: Refunds, credits, or prorated adjustments are not provided for sessions that are canceled due to inclement weather or other unavoidable circumstances beyond our control when a make-up session cannot be offered.

Our intention is fairness and continuity: We make every effort to complete programming as planned and to provide a make-up option whenever feasible, while recognizing that rescheduling can be limited by facility availability, instructor scheduling, and the overall course calendar.
