Tony and GRAMMY Award winner Heather Headley is celebrated for her powerhouse voice, commanding stage presence, and multi-faceted career on Broadway, in recordings, and on screen. She originated the role of Nala in The Lion King and earned acclaim for the title role in Elton John and Tim Rice’s Aida, winning the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical. In 2012, she made her West End debut in the musical adaptation of The Bodyguard, earning rave reviews, and later returned to Broadway in The Color Purple as Shug Avery.
Her R&B and gospel album Audience of One won the GRAMMY for Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album, and her earlier recordings produced chart-topping hits. The Boston Globe called her voice “the purest and boldest in pop.”
Headley has appeared in Spike Lee’s TV series She’s Gotta Have It, starred opposite Jennifer Hudson in the film Respect, and played recurring roles on television, including Gwen Garrett on Chicago Med. She currently stars on Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias.
Accompanied by piano, she will perform a mix of Broadway hits, classic standards, and R&B favorites, delivering artistry, passion, and heart in every note.
