McCarter is pleased to offer the option to communicate by text for the convenience of its patrons.
Text Messaging (SMS) Terms
These terms apply to text messages McCarter Theatre Center sends to people who have asked to receive them. They are separate from our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information more generally.
Our text message programs
Each program is separate. You only receive the ones you have asked for.
Engagement logistics. Housing, travel and schedule information for contracted guest artists and program participants, and our replies to questions you text us.
Program and class updates. Schedule changes, weather cancellations and day-of information for families enrolled in our classes and camps.
News and offers. Occasional information about our performances — only if you expressly ask for it, and never as a condition of buying anything.
How you opt in
You can opt in by checking the optional text-message box where we offer it — on our sign-up pages, enrollment forms, or when you buy tickets — or by texting us first at +1 (609) 917-7040.
Consent is never required. You can buy tickets, enroll, participate and work with us without agreeing to receive text messages. The box is always optional and never pre-checked, and declining changes nothing else about your ticket, your enrollment or your engagement.
How you opt out
Reply STOP to any message. We will send one confirmation and nothing further. Reply START to rejoin. Because each program is separate, opting out of one does not remove you from another you have chosen.

Frequency, cost and delivery
Message frequency varies by program. Message and data rates may apply, both for messages we send you and messages you send us — ask your wireless provider about your plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your information
We will not share or sell your mobile number, your text-message opt-in data, or your consent to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes.
Supported carriers
Most US carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular and their regional partners. Carrier support can change and is not guaranteed.
